length of time for a decision was created by paula
Hi, just a quick query, in regards to length of time from ESA50 questionnaire to be sent back to ATOS/DWP, a friend's questionnaire was sent back on 18th october, the deadline was 27th October, and as we are at the end of November, they still have not heard anything at all. Is this the norm at the moment because of the high number of transfers?
They do not want to rock the boat in regards phoning them, they are still getting income support paid, they saw the psychisatrist last week and he did not mention that the DWP had contacted him for written evdience, depsite the fact that my friend had put on the ESA 50 that ATOS/Decision Maker at DWP contact the heatlh care professionals dealing with their case to contact them for further medical evidence.
Any idea what could be happening here, ot is this the norm country wide at the moment because of the workload for DWP. The area in question is Croydon. They are really stressing about it and I do not know what to suggest for the best to do.

I would have expected a medical to have been arrannged on the timescales you mention, as this has not happened, then it could mean that one was not required, and ATOS have returned the file to the DWP for a Decision.

However, I'm afraid the only way your friend will actually know is to contact their local DWP office, they won't be "rocking the boat" by doing so, and at least they will know what is going on.
