School Holidays

Hi, I still haven't been contacted by ATOS about my medical.

If I am contacted in the next two weekd, it will nearly be Christmas. My children break up from school on 15th Dec, can I refuse to have a medical while they are on holiday?

Unfortunately, you cannot refuse to submit for a medical assessment in the circumstances you have described.

Atos would in all probabilities expect you to arrange for someone to look after your children when you are required to attend for a medical assessment, and indeed I wouldn't put it past Atos to say that you could bring them with you!

Hahaha, will think about taking the 4 of them with me!

Hi Rachel,

If you were to take any of your children with you to the assessment, beware that the Healthcare Professional may make all sorts of assumptions about your levels of capabilities from the way in which you handle your children.

Thanks Matty, I wont be taking them really and I haven't got a date for my assessment yet.

They are old enough to be left on their own but I don't like doing it for more than a couple of hours.

I may however have to ask my eldest to go with me if my friend can't.
