Can you advise please if having to use a elec scooter would be classed as able to propel yourself independantly. sorry if this is a stupid question.
I have to use crutches for short distance but mostly when out use a scooter as constant pain fatigue, and balance probs

Hi,

You would need to tick the box most appropriate in your circumstances however the important bit is to explain honestly your limitations in mobilising and any aids used in the separate box. It is possible you maybe judged as being able to use a manual wheelchair even if you do not actually use one of these.

Thanks Pete, I wouldnt be able to use a manual wheelchair as I also have shoulder conditions and weakness in arms and hands, from neck spine condition and I have fibro which causes extreme fatigue. I only go out when my Son or husband is with me as they have to sort out the scooter.

Hi,

it maybe a good idea to explain that in the box on the form (or on a continuation sheet)when completing your ESA50.
