'Again' ...'many thanks indeed' .... although I have read much of the site already, I guess I am in some element of a state of shock in getting 'zero points' for all the documented ailments/prescribed meds, and the day to day suffering that one endures.

All the best,
Tricky

Quite understandable TV.

As you will see the ESA Appeals Guide was updated in November.

Keep us updated as to how you are getting on.

cheers

G'day .... I see I need 'fit notes' from the date of the 'fit for work decision' ... this was dated 26/11/11 - (now appealed on a GL24) - howsoever, they have notified me within the same letter that my last payment is due on 12/12/11.

Should the 'fit for work' run from 26/11 or 12/12 - the date of the last payment - I am unsure whether these things run in arrears or in advance ?

Many thanks !

The medical statement (neutral words) should run from the date of the date of the decision, ie 26 November 2011.

"If you also receive HB and CTB you would have to inform them also."

Do I send the HB/CTB people a copy of the 'fit for work decision' + a copy of the GL24 appeal ?

Reading through another thread, it appears it will take 12 weeks or so to put the ESA assessment payment into force - meaning no income of any description for approx. 3 months or thereabouts - what usually happens in the intervening period in these circumstances in respect of HB as my income will be 'less than' Income Support, i.e. zero - do they put any current payments to my social landlord on hold, or consider that zero income whilst awaiting assessment level of ESA ?

And for CTB ... does the council normally expect payment in the meantime - out of zero income whilst awaiting processing for ESA assessment level ?

Any guidance appreciated - many thanks !

As moderators our area of expertise is in relation to disability living allowance, attendance allowance, the personal capability assessment used in connection with incapacity benefits, and the work capability assessment used in connection with employment and support allowance. So those are the only subjects on which we can provide reliable information.

All we can offer is general information about how the system works. However, we cannot offer advice to individuals about a specific benefits problem under any circumstances. To give accurate and reliable advice about a specific benefits problem, we'd need to know a great deal about your income, savings, health, household arrangements and more. To give advice without all this information would seriously risk misinforming you.

If you need specific benefits advice, you can download our FREE, 12 page guide.

Members are however free to offer any helpful comments if they have been in a similar predicament, when in receipt of HB/CTB?
