Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know of hubbies experience as i just cannot believe/understand DWP!!!!!

I will try to keep this brief and to the point.

Hubby was on IB, filled out ESA50 and was put in WRAG witout a medical. Letter confirming WRAG gave no info whatsoever, so made phone calls to DWP, who on three different occassions chasing info. :(

In the meantime got call from D/M' Dept asking why hubby should be in S/G? I was not in any mood to be ploite so reeled off hubbies problems physical and mental and told him to properly read ESA50!!!!

DM told me to put all this that i had told him in writting, lost my rag and told him to send me details of WRAG, then i will reiterate all that i had told him and refer to WRAG decision.

I put in GL24 appeal and stated more info would follow upon receipt of WRAG decision.Sent this by recorded delivery.

AS more than a week had gone and not recieved confirmation of GL24, phoned DWP. Explained all to young lady at call center only to be told that hubby had been placed in S/G THREE WEEKS AGO and have we not recieved a letter??? Was shocked. So asked her to get letter sent out to me and also to get DM to call me as needed further clarification. DM office called on same day to confirm S/G status and promised letter of confirmation. :woohoo:

In meantime recieved letter for hubby to attend WFI from local JC. :( Phoned them and explained all of the above. Chappy checked his screen and confirmed hubby was in S/G and would not be require to attend WFI'S :P

This was two weeks ago, still had not recieved S/G status, called DWP 1/12/11 only to be told hubby was in S/G letter would follow and DM will call. :S

DM did call, i stated all the above, was told not to worry as letters will be sent out ASAP. :cheer:

Postman has been, still no replies.

I feel as though the world and its mother seems to be aware that hubby is in S/G other than us.

I have just finished typing up a letter of complaint to senior DM asking why is it that this simple request has to be asked for on so many occassions and i am now running out of patience. Recorded Delivery post.

Can anyone think why we have not recieved this yet.

Also, has anyone else experienced anything similliar?????

Thank you all for atleast taking the time to finish reading this. :woohoo:

Radhika.

Congratulations, Radhika. It seems to be the case that plenty of people concur with the fact that your hubby has been placed in the Support Group. Is it just that you're waiting on the confirmation letter, or have the benefits been stopped? If it's only the former, I'd be looking anywhere other than in the gift horse's mouth, personally :)

That is, it might be better to let sleeping dogs lie. No doubt the letter will arrive, given time. If you keep asking them for it, they might change their minds. As you say, they've no rhyme or reason !

Best wishes :)

Firstly well done R, on getting your husband moved from the WRAG to the SG. :)

In answer to your question as to why you have not yet received written confirmation, many members are suffering the same, as I am sure that you have noted.

It could be down to "gridlock" due to the number of reassessments being done at this time, (11,000/week), apathy, icompetence, shortage of man power, or "all of the above".

The best advice that I could give would be to continue, and escalate with the DWP complaints process, as HERE :

Complaining to the DWP

Until you get what you want. :)

cheers

Thanks David,

The reason i am chasing for original WRAG decision and current S/G decision is that i need to know how long he has been placed in S/G for all we know it could be a few months and the whole process will have to start again.

Hubbys payments have gone up to S/G status.

Also, for the record i have worked out that hubby eas put in S/G even before GL24 appeal. :cheer:

Not sure how that happened as i had not sent in further info.
