using esa113 for dla application was created by dannym
Hi,
Got a letter in early November from dwp regarding a first time application for DLA. They said that the application is taking longer, as they have contacted a consultant for more information.
I have heard that consultants' reports can take a long time, so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to contact DWP and inform them that there is a ESA113 available as part of the ESA application.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If you have a favourable copy of form ESA113 and you wish to submit this as evidence in support of your DLA claim, then by all means send this information to the DLA Unit.

Ensure that it is made clear that the form is included as evidence for your DLA claim, by way of a covering letter.

Hi, great site by the way.

Currently waiting on decisions for first-time ESA and DLA applications for my OH. Early last month I got a letter from the Disability and Carers Service saying they have requested a report from the consultant. I also got word from Atos that a medical would not be required for the ESA claim. I reckon the DM will make a decision largely based on the ESA113 from the GP. I have seen this report already, by mistake, and it seems very supportive.
Would it be a good idea to bring this report to the attention of the DLA DM as extra evidence?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sorry CD, I thought I lost the first post and posted again.

Anyway thanks for your reply.

I suppose the important thing to consider is whether or not the ESA113 is favourable or not. The GP has stated that "the MH symptoms are severe and that my OH cannot function without the help of her partner". He also ticked the box that OH cannot attend a medical and needs a home visit.

He faxed a very supportive letter to Atos giving reasons why OH could not attend assessment centre. Do you think this letter could also be sent as supporting evidence?

No problem with your duplicate post as the original post was initially awaiting moderation. See Why hasn’t my post appeared?

Pardon my ignorance, but to what does OH refer? Insofar as further supporting evidence is concerned, it is entirely up to you if you believe it will help your claim? Unfortunately, not being privy to the evidence in question and other aspects of your DLA claim, it is impossible to say whether or not it would be helpful?
