Dreaded IB to ESA call was created by Sandra
Hi all
Got very rudely woken up this morning by the dwp saying that they are sending me the esa50 form to fill in. they could've waited until after xmas

all the stress of the transfer and trying to get all the information right has caused an AF doo so feel awfull now thanks to them.

I have download the online form to fill in but all this is too much for me. my daughter/carer is trying to help but it is just all too much for us. any xmas fun has just gone as this is what we have to do over xmas.

I sympathise with you Sandra. I just found out yesterday that I've been put into the wrag group after 22 years on IB. I should have gone through to the support group as I can't mobilise more than 50 metres. Apparently the ' Health Professional ' said I can mobilise 70 metres!! I don't know how he came to that decision as I didn't walk more than 18 metres anywhere in the vicinity of the medical centre! Still, take advice from this site and hope you get through the lottery. ;)

A lot of what the ADA reports from a medical assessment has to be based on assumptions and pure guesswork? Unless they have actually measured your mobilising capacity as 70 metres, I cannot see how this estimation could ever be taken as a finding of fact?

Isn't it strange that it was only just over the requisite 50 metres, which would have placed you in the support group?

I would like to see what they say about me as I am unable to walk more than 9 meters and after that I use a wheelchair.

I am also not able to propel myself due to heart conditions and my carer has to push me. God knows what they will say/find with me?
