GP report not requested by decision maker. was created by happyfeet
I am in the process of my appeal against being placed in the WRAG instead of the support group following many years on incapacity benefit.
Just spoken to my GP she hasn't been asked to provide any information to the DWP to help them in the initial decision making process. The only medical information they had was a consulatnt letter about my CFS/ME from 2005 which i included with the ESA50.
Now I am appealing is it likely she will be asked for this information? Just wondering if I will gain anything by asking her to do a private report .

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

It's unlikely that the Tribunal panel will seek additional information of its own accord, however, we have drafted a letter in our ESA Appeals guide, page 17 onwards, which requests the panel to ask for a report. It's untried as yet, but worth giving a go.

Thank you Gordon, although I read the appeal document didn't take this point in.I'm at the early stage with my appeal and haven't had the bundle of documents or a reconsideration yet. I am going to write to the DWP requesting that they contact my GP .
