Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The Support Group is for claimants who meet the relevant criteria, see
Qualifying for the Support Group
It is perfectly possible for someone with a condition that will only last six months to qualify for the SG and for someone with with an incurable condition to only qulaify for the WRAG.
The ATOS "doctor" is expressing an opinion with regard to the prognosis, so it is perfectly possible that they will disagree with a Consultant, and regularly do. Whether their "prognosis" is reasonable is another matter, for example, when they quote a six month recovery from an incurable illness.

the dm said to me that based on the medication i am on it would make it impossible for me to work as stated by my psychiatrist.
i guess in theary my medication could be reduced if i get better but iv been on the same meds for 6yrs, in my psychiatrist opinion its unlikely to be reduced ever, but that was disregarded, as was the 5 support group descripters i fitted.
the dm even said she thought i qualified under the exceptional circumstances rule but she told me the atos person dissagreed with her on that, even though the last time i tried to work i ended up being found by the police trying to jump from a 7th floor hotel window!

Well done, Martin. It just goes to show how illogical the system is. The more I read about cases and what Atos/DWP are doing ~ it gets dafter by the day!
