ESA50 too big for the envelope re FAQ

What happened was this, took the envelope to the post office as my friend had taped the pre paid envelope to the a4 envelope, i asked at the post office was it ok and she sent it recorded delivery signed for, and the cost of the pre paid envelope suppplied by atos went towards the cost of the recorded delivery. Post Office counter staff said they do accept envelopes taped on to bigger ones but you do pay the difference in price, as it was recorderd delivery signed for, she would have paid £2.06 but only had to pay 95p because the pre paid envleope went towards the cost. Sorry I was not clear. She did not get it for free, but it was trying to solve the problem on how to get the esa50 questionnaire back with a lot of additional letters. Hope this is clearer and still helps others trying to get this back to the relevant people.

Hi Paula that is exactly what I expected to happen, you are quite right, you only pay for the difference in the extra weight (mine was about 50 pages!!) and secure delivery. So your advise was valid as they should have deducted the value of the pre paid envelope as in your case. My post office didn't but they also tried to charge me for a parcel going out to bfpo which is free up to 2k but thats another story!! x
