ESA rates was created by philip
I currently get on IB £216.10 a fortnight so £108.05 a week. If i ever get on ESA support group does this mean the most you can get is £99.85 a week or £199.70 a fortnight. So already you get a small reduction.

The legislation that enables the transfer includes provisions to protect transferees existing payments.

This, Transitional Protection, means that if your existing payments are more than what you would receive on ESA, then you will be paid an extra amount to make up the difference. This will continue to be paid until the underlying ESA Rate erodes the extra amount.

If your existing payments are less than the current ESA rate then your payments will be increased to that ESA rate as soon as you are transferred.

The Transitional Protection lasts while you remain eligible for ESA(CB) or 2020.
