How to send in further medical information? was created by KittyBoo
My DLA was renewed but my care was reduced to lower rate from Higher.
The Award letter said the deision was based on the EMP report and my form. There was no mention of my GP's report.
My condition is getting worse and my Dr confirmed this when I saw her yesterday.
Can I submit further information to the DWP and what is the best way of doing this?
I am a bit confused about how they award the level of care needed.
The award letter said I was only awarded the lower level because " you can move around indoors, wash and dress yourself, get upstairs and take your medication".
I have to do these things because I live alone.

Hi KB,
If you are outside the permitted 1 month time limit to appeal, which it would seem is the case from your post here :
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?func=vie...id=10&id=74629#74629
Your only other option is to ask for a review, due to a deterioration in your condition, and an increase in your resulting limitations/needs.
Again though there is some risk involved in that your existing DLA Awards will be reviewed,(As mentioned by Pete in reply to your thread above)
Any written evidence provided by your G.P. as to your increased limitations/ needs should only help.
With regards to "Care" information on this thread may help. :

You can access all our DLA Guides from here : DLA Guides
As you will see it does not matter whether you actually receive the "Care" or if you live alone, it is whether the "Care" is "Reasonably Required"
