I was also staying with a friend in London away from my home, hoping a change of environment would help the depression etc . I never throught to inform dwp of this as my circumstances were all the same, same life, same conditions, same medications. Just was in a different bed different part of country. Should I of informed dwp of this , and whet do you think will happen when they find out. They will assume I must of been so much better and improved mental health condition to take a national express from Wales to London . My condidtion did not changed , it just changed geographic location from where I am experiencing my conditions. Does not make me more or less able. Well I did feel a bit home sick and increase stress not being in my home.
I can travel on coach no problem, it's worrying about the bit a each end that gets me!!
But if they find out I traveled on a bus and coach then Im all fit for work. That is the assumption huh? And I should not tell the appeal tribunal I am able to sit or sleep for 5hours on a coach.

Hi, I recently was admitted into hospital for a very infected gallbladder, I spent 7 nights on the surgical ward to get the infection down. I did not know I was going into hospital, my gp just said I must go A&E immediately . Amd then I did not know how long I would be in for. The last thing on my mind was writing a letter or email to DWP informing them of this 'change in circumstances' , however now I have read that what I have done is in breach of TC for ESA and they could throw the book at me and i would have to repay loads of payments. What is the deal here. I didn't plan the hospital stay, so could not give dwp notice.

Why can’t you answer a question about my specific claim?
As Moderators our area of expertise is in relation to disability living allowance, attendance allowance, the personal capability assessment used in connection with incapacity benefits and the work capability assessment used in connection with employment and support allowance. So those are the only subjects on which we can provide reliable information.
Unfortunately, you also need to bear in mind that boards like this can never provide advice to individual claimants about their specific circumstances, all we can offer is general information about how the system works.
This is because there are huge range of factors which could affect your eligibility and it’s not possible or advisable for you to disclose that information on a public forum or for us to ask you the kind of questions that would be required.
We understand that this can be frustrating and that it’s sometimes a question of judgement about the degree to which a question is specific to your claim or more general in nature. But, for our sake and your own it is important that we do our best to stick to giving information rather than advice.
So, for advice about a specific advice you need to contact an advice agency if at all possible.

So you can't answer if I must of reported my stay in hospital to the dwp given it was not a stay that I had planned or had prior knowledge of.

As already mentioned in the following thread:

As per the ESA40 Notes Sheet page 16, going into/out of hospital is a circumstance which should be reported to the DWP if one is in receipt of ESA.
