If you are receiving Contribution Based ESA, then there should be no implication as ESA(CB) is not affected either by assets or income (non-pension related).hello,

If you are receiving Income Related ESA, then there are various scenarios with different effects. In these circumstances, you need to get face to face advice from your local CAB or Welfare Rights office, as they will be able to run over each option and any implications to your benefit. See

ESA(CB) claimants who also have income from a pension are potentially liable for deductions from their ESA payments, unless they are subject to the Transitional Protection following a transfer from IB to ESA.Hi Gordon,
May i ask what you mean by non-pension related???for ESA(CB).
I unberstood the rest of your answer.
Radhika.
There is an initial £85/w week disregard, followed by a £1/w deduction for every £2/w of pension income.
Other income, for example from rented property, shares, etc. is not deducted from a claimants ESA(CB).
Hope this explains it.

Many PHI policies assume the claimant is in receipt of an incapacity benefit and therefore deduct the amount of that benefit from the payment. What about Permenant Health Insurance that one took out on their own and not through their employer??? and the DWP ESA(CB) benefit is being deducted from the insurance payment.
Radhika.
This is not the same as monies being deducted from ESA(CB).
