I will be attending my daughter's appeal with her as her representative against a refusal to port her from IB to ESA following an Atos assessment. She has quite severe mental health issues, but only scored 6 points on the assessment. The appeal date is the 26th January.
I am putting together a submission on why I believe this is wrong and what should be (have been)taken into consideration.
My question is this. Should I write this in the 3rd person? I don't want it to appear that my daughter is in a good enough place to have written this herself, but I've already written a report as her mother.
If it your intention that the report should appear to have been penned by your daughter, you are merely putting her words to paper, then we would normally recommend that it is written in the first person.
However, if you are writing it on her behalf because she is not capable of contibuting to such a report, then we would recommend it being in the third person.
In either case you should make it clear that you have produced the report and why, to avoid confusion over her capabilities.
