Many thanks, Bro,
how long do dla payments last? Is it similar to esa..time-limited,
or assessment/prognosis-based, or ..?
Hi S,
The Length of DLA awards can vary, 1 year is the minimum, awards can also be given "Indefinately", however, this is not a life award though, and DLA awards can be reviewed at any time after 12 months.

And, sorry,

Hi S,
I am not aware of the statistics for this. However, it is important to understand that it is the resulting limitations/disabilities/care needs, caused by the medical conditions, whether mental or physical, that qualify you for an award of DLA.

so, like esa, it's the "resulting limitations " that require emphasis from the claimant, when completing the dla application form. My mp's caseworker
sent a supporting letter, to add to my esa
gl24. appeal. I'm thinking it may help me to have
a similar letter from her in this instance.
Would you agree, Bro.?

and how is it decided whether a claimant attends a medical , or not?
Is it based on what onformation is on the
application form (for dla i.e.).
