DLA renewal awarded indefinately

DLA renewal awarded indefinately was created by StrokeofInsight
A recent DLA renewal is an award of High Rate Care and Low Rate Mobility, which is suitable.
However, rather than it being for 2 years, as it was previously, or 5 years as some people have, it has been awarded 'indefinitely'.
Initially, I thought 'indefinitely' could be a better result, possibly meaning it is for a longer term.
Now I'm thinking that is means it is not definite, but possibly meaning 'uncertain' or 'temporary' and that it could change or be withdrawn at anytime and more easily than if it had been for 2 or 5 years.
I have 2 questions:
(1) Should I appeal the decision and ask that it be awarded for 2 or 5 years instead of 'indefinitely'?
(2) Is an indefinite award an increasing trend that is perhaps influenced by the upcoming PIP in one year's time, or maybe by a failed ATOS medical in the future?

An "Indefinate" award of DLA, is the longest award that you can receive, and generally means in the longer term.
