I personally suspect that the DWP in Blackpool who deal with DLA claims have their own medical team (nurse, phsio, or the odd qualified doctor)on site to refer to for advice to keep things as simple as possible without going "off site" to ATOS in order to get the information they need. This would ensure a speedy response without having to wait on someone else's inclination to answer.

There may well be HCP's on site, however they would work for ATOS, as ATOS provide all medical services for the DWP.
