I am surprised that they havent yet asked us to inform them in advance of our impending deaths. Good grief. I was thinking yesterday, I bet the Government would love to re-introduce the old work houses again (bet they would if the could get away with it) they could shove us all in them.

This 'going away for one day' - does it mean being away from home for a full 24 hrs with an overnight stay OR just having a rare day out at the seaside and being home for bedtime? I've never received anything from DWP about it either when on IB or ESA.

I'm not sure F, as you can see it is pretty vague.

I should imagine it may mean an overnight stay.

Hi rapheal,
This may suprise you but when I read the list of things you have to notify the DWP about as in holidays etc, the bottom one on the list was death. I found it unbelievable at the stupidity of whoever thought the list up that your expected to notify them of your death.
Just shows the sheer lack of sensability in their thinking.
Just too make you laugh, along the same lines, when I renewed my car insurance and said I have a disability, the guy said 'oh! fantastic' these people would be a danger to themselves if they stopped to think before opening their mouths lol!

Hi pussycat, yes I have the same thing with my car insurance, even have to go for a medical every 3 years, still someone makes a lot of money out of us, there is always money to be made from illness and old age, and even death (look at the cost of a basic cremation) surprised they have not started charging for being born.

I was never aware of this and I have been on IB and equivalent since 1992. No leaflet I was sent ever had this information. In fact I was sent a jobseekers leaflet with my migration to ESA. It makes me suspicious when we are not informed of these things.

It has been suggested that if you let them know every time you attend an appointment etc then they will say that you are obviously fit to work.
