ESA50 Exceptional Circumstances query

Hello, everyone,

I have tried a search/FAQs with no luck, I apologise in advance if this is a dumb question.

If you believe you fall under the 'exceptional circumstances', where do you put this on the ESA50 form?

And if my question has already been answered, can someone please point me to the relevant thread?

M.E. brainfog combined with the stress of the migration process, I think...

Many thanks in advance!

Hi C,

You could either put it on page 18, other information, or on a seperate A4 page that could be attached to the ESA50.

If you use seperate pages, put your name, Ni Number, and DOB at the top of any extra pages used, it may also help to make reference to the extra pages, on page 18 of the ESA50, e.g. please see added pages with regards to Exceptional Circumstances, and number the extra pages 1of4, 2of4, 3of4, 4of4, etc, etc.

Don't forget to go into detail of how you feel that you fulfill the Exceptional Circumstances criteria, regarding risk etc.

Would you mind starting a new thread when you have a question as you have posted onto the end of a thread that has not been active for three months!

To answer your question, yes you should. You don't say whether this is a new claim, a re-assessment, or you are being transferred to ESA from another beneift, but in all three cases the burden of proof lies with you, with regard to proving you meet the ESA requirements.

You will need to provide current evidence that you meet this criteria, so it would be worth you speaking to the health professionals that support you.

Good luck

Gordon
