DLA letter from DWP - should i be worried? was created by Melanie Tudor
Hi, I have been on DLA HRC LRM for 2 years. My award comes to an end on 14th April 2012.
My welfare rights officer sent my renewal form off recently and with that were loads of letters from psychiatrist, support worker, clinical psychologist etc. I have not seen my GP for years so made sure I included all the medical info I could (and that was a big bundle - hospital discharge summaries etc too).
Today I have received a letter from DWP saying my form has been received and they are looking into it. They say that if they do not have enough information, they will contact my GP.
Is this just a standard letter and nothing to worry about? When I made my first DLA claim I did not include any information other than the form and days later I received one of these letters saying they are looking into it. Then I had a DWP letter saying I was not entitled to DLA. I then did a paper reconsideration and sent loads of medical information and was awarded HRC LRM for two years. Surely as I have sent loads of medical information with my renewal claim, they should not need to approach anybody else for information.
Sorry to go on, but is this just a standard letter that they are looking at my claim, or is it a letter only sent to claiments that they feel have not supplied enough info?
thanks, worried sick. Was bad enough sorting out my ESA (am in support group - sent evidence of this wiTH DLA claim.
thanks

Gordon, sometimes just a few words mean a lot. Huge sigh of relief!
