Placed in the WRAG should we appeal? was created by sarahsing
We received the letter today stating my husband has been placed in the WRAG. I am unsure whether to leave it at this or appeal, I understand that the decision can be reversed and ESA could be cancelled. My reason for appealing is that we fort very hard last year in appealing the 'found fit' decision and won. (be it only for 6 months). My husband condition has deteriorated since the last appeal and with his condition (CRPS) and the range of medication he takes I feel that to be placed in the WRAG is clearly wrong. Do you think we would be right to appeal ?

There is a risk to appealing, and we do know of members who have actually lost their ESA by doing so.

To be placed in the Support Group he needs to meet one or more the associated criteria, have a look at the following FAQs

Qualifying for the Support Group

Is there any risk to challenging a decision?

How long do I have to appeal?

How to submit an appeal

Hi Gordan,

Thanks for the quick reply. He was placed in the support group under descriptor 1 in the last appeal. I think I'll speak to Welfare rights to discuss our best option, they helped during the last appeal.
We are also waiting for a specialist report which I'm hoping with clearly show his deterioration which we could then use for the decision to be looked at again.
