I doubt it will make any difference your including it, although it may be relevant to mention it in any submission you make to the Tribunal panel to head of any queries as to why the Decision was not overturned.
You may wish to make complaint to the DWP regarding the matter, see
Complaining to the DWP Two reasons for suggesting this, as you correctly point out, not knowing that a Reconsideration / Revision was being carried out meant that you could not contribute to it, secondly, lodging an appeal requires the DWP to carry out a (second) Recoinsideration, further delaying any resolution to your claim.
