I have recently been transferred from IB to ESA WRAG without medical. When I was phoned with the result, the lady I spoke to was lovely and really tried to encourage me to appeal as she considered me suitable for support group. She said she would discuss it with her superior officer and get back to me, which she did. She rang me back and said she couldn't change the decision but would send me an appeal form.
I've now had forms stating that I wrote to them asking for a re-consideration and the reasons why they won't change the decision. I didn't send a letter and, had I known that a re-consideration was being carried out, I would have made a better job of it.
I feel manipulated and that the operator tricked me. She seemed genuinely concerned and was kind to me. Am I being naive? Should I include this info on my appeal form?
I doubt it will make any difference your including it, although it may be relevant to mention it in any submission you make to the Tribunal panel to head of any queries as to why the Decision was not overturned.
You may wish to make complaint to the DWP regarding the matter, see
Two reasons for suggesting this, as you correctly point out, not knowing that a Reconsideration / Revision was being carried out meant that you could not contribute to it, secondly, lodging an appeal requires the DWP to carry out a (second) Recoinsideration, further delaying any resolution to your claim.
