medical was created by ROSIE75
I am waiting to find out the results of my medical, which I had nearly 6 weeks ago. I am being migrated from IB to ESA. I know that this can take 5/6 weeks, is this whether you are going to be put in the support group, the WRAG group or taken off ESA altogether? How come some people find out after a week or so after their medical and is it rare for someone to have to wait 3 months to find out?
If I end up having to appeal because I am put in the WRAG group and not the support group of ESA I know that you have to have the WFI's but what it you cannot make one because of ill health. Occasionally my OCD and depression can be quite severe, as if I am having another breakdown and I know I would have to cancel one of these WFI's, if that were the case and arrange it for a couple of weeks later when I would hopefully feel a bit better. Can you change an appointment with the DWP under these circumstances?

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering whilst you are awaiting the decision of a medical are you still paid at your current rate or does it drop down to the lower rate.

I can't find a direct answer to my question above.
I was asking for payment rates whilst waiting to hear the results from the medical NOT appealing a decision.

Hi Wedesign
If you are on IB or ESA while waiting for the results of a medical your rate of money will remain the same.

Hi WeDesign
The answer to your question is on page 3 of the Understanding ESA guide, linked to in my last post.
If it's an initial claim you are in the assessment phase and paid at the assessment rate until a decision is made.
If you are already in the main phase and being reassessed, you will receive the additional component (work-related or support component) until a decision is made.
Regards
Derek
