Heard a rumour that if you have been diagnosed with cancer, on top of all other disabilities you won't be assessed for
new ESA thing? Anyone know please?
Thanks

Hi M,
It is not clear whether your query is regarding DLA, PIP, or ESA, as the title of your post is "cancer/DLA assessment", but you mention ESA in your post.
Can you please clarify.

Hi M,
If your query was with regards to cancer and ESA, please see the Exceptional Circumstances Rule, ESA Reg 29, that gives a claimant Limited Capability for Work, (LCW) here :
www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2008/794/regulation/29/made
A claimant does not have to score any points or fulfill the WRAG (LCW) descriptors to qualify for WRAG of ESA as above.
&
Qualifying for the WRAG
See also the Exceptional Circumstances rules, ESA Reg 35, that gives a claimant Limited Capability for Work Related Activity, (LCWRA), and entry to the Support Group of ESA, without having to fulfill any of the ESA Support Group descriptors. Here :
www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2008/794/regulation/35/made
&
Qualifying for the Support Group
Hope this helps, if it does not answer your question, please repost on this thread.
