APPEALING was created by ROSIE75
I am about to put in an appeal because I have been put in the WRAG but believe I should be in the support group. In one of your guides it says that because there are a limited number of ways that you can pass the limited capability for work-related activity assessment it is worth saying why you think you do. It then goes on to give an example of what you could put, basically correcting what the decision maker has said. Now I got my letter about the result of my medical about 10 days ago now and have been so down about the result that it has taken me until now to start thinking about appealing. Therefore I don't know why they came to this decision because, as of yet, I haven't requested the results of my medical etc.. Do I have to mention the above information I have talked about because obviously I haven't got time to be requesting evidence now as I only have a couple of weeks left to send off for my appeal form. Obviously I will request all the evidence I need in plenty of time for the tribunal. Sorry for the long thread. Many thanks.

You do have one month from the date of the Decision letter to lodge an appeal, whilst you most definitely should make sure that you do lodge an appeal within these timescales, you do have time to request your medical reports from the DWP.
If they don't arrive, then send the request in stating that you believe you have already provided sufficient information to be placed into the Support Group but will be providing additional information once you have received your medical reports.
Have a look at the following FAQs
Is there any risk to challenging a decision?
Qualifying for the Support Group
How to submit an appeal
How long do I have to appeal?
Do I have to attend WFIs while I appeal?
