It used to be the case that starting Permitted Work while on IB could trigger a re-assessment, but with the transfer of IB claimants to ESA this is no longer the case, although a claimant doing Permitted Work will be recorded on their file and this information will be available to ATOS when they are transferred.Does anyone on here do Permitted Work? Even before ESA I've heard that people get hassled on it to do more hours. If I did it it would be only a few hours a week at home ie no more than £20 a week. But I am frightened of initiating this because I feel it will trigger a medical and a lot of hassle. I have mental health problems as well as physical and it is the fear and bullying that means I stay where I am. I am on Incapacity Benefit at the moment.
You need to careful regarding the hours you do while on Permitted Work, as exceeding them can cause major problems with regard to an IB/ESA claim. Our FAQ only applies to PW while on ESA, so I've included a link to the DirectGov site.

Of course, Atos will use this as evidence that you can do work then, so it's hardly surprising that people are scared to risk trying anything because the system is so punitive, even though they are supposed to be encouraging and supporting people to do a bit of work, I don't see it.
