With regards to your question, a letter of support from your G.P. can be most beneficial, especially if it goes into detail of how you might qualify for the benefit/allowance that is being appealled.
G.P.'s are not contractually obliged to provide such letters for their patients, and if they do agree to provide one, there may be a charge.
