Ok thank you.

I wonder if perhaps he thought I was receiving Income based benefit. That might have been the case.

My husband works to many hours for us to claim that, and I really don't think we are entitled to anything else.

I am going to DIAL on the 18 May to put in a change of circumstances in my care needs due to the fact that I am awaiting a kidney/pancreas transplant and I am being prepared for dialysis. I am sure you can imagine how much this, along with all my other problems have a significant impact on my life.

So if I get called for a medical I should definitely go then, as there could be a chace of me receiving money again?

I'm just worried about the loss of money, and I am finding it very scary.

Yes, if you are placed in the Support Group, payments will be re-instated and will remain payable while you continue to be eligible for the SG.

Even if you are placed in the WRAG, it is worth you maintaining your claim as you will receive NI Credits which count towards you receving a full State Pension.

I cannot believe this.

modedir (name removed)

I sent an email to my Jobcentre adviser about why I have had an ESA50, she said "it's a matter of course, because you are due for a medical". I also said that the doctor at my tribunal, a while back said "being on dialysis automatically puts you in the Support Group". She has just told me it does not and she has 3 people in that situation who are in the WRAG. What the hell do you have to do to get some money. This is proving very difficult for me and I am getting very upset and the prospect of my ESA stopping and the end of the month, and the fact that I am still probably going to be called for a medical and have to face that again, but I still could get nothing because I'll get put back in the WRAG, and won't be entitled to a penny........ :( xx

It is correct that receiving Dialysis only entitles a claimant to WRAG placement.

Hello all

I found out yesterday that I am to start renal dialysis very soon.

I did a bit of searching and found this here, on the ESA test page of the B and W website in the exceptional circumstances info.

"You will be regarded as having limited capability for work on any days in which you are receiving, or recovering from receiving, certain regular treatments: plasmapherisis; haemodialysis; radiotherapy or total parenteral nutrition. Are you having any such treatment?"

I will be having it 3 times a week with recovery days in-between.

As this is what will be happening to me, will that entitle me to be in the support group, even though it says I won't happen above, but I think that is depending on what kind of dialysis you are having? I am not sure how up to date that info is, but I hope that the site us kept well-informed with it's info, and this falls under the new rules? I would like to know as I am sending letters off to the relevant people to inform them of what is happening, I also understand that this means I should not be called in for a medical, can anybody advise the best way to go about these things?

Thanks

Pusscat xx

I am afraid that Limited Capability for Work applies to the WRAG not the Support Group (which is Limited Capability for Work Related Activity), also there are no specific exceptions from the ESA medical, so whilst it should remove the need for you to attend one, you may still be requested to attend one.
