Anyway it's nearly all filled in, courtesy of your brilliant guides!
My query is that I was retired on ill-health grounds after 30 yrs as a teacher.
I receive an occupational pension so I only qualify for NI credits. Can I actually be made to go back to work again or is the form just to confirm that I still qualify for these credits?
Thanks for all your great advice.

Hi! I received ny migration from IB to ESA letter last Oct and the courtesy call a week later. Despite phone calls I only received my form two weeks ago - 5 months wait. Talk about making you suffer!

If a claimant receives National Insurance credits only, will they still need to attend medical assessments?
Claimants can receive National Insurance credits awarded on the grounds of limited capability for work following exhaustion of contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance entitlement. This will allow them to maintain their National Insurance contribution record. Claimants will still be required to complete a limited capability for work questionnaire (ESA50) and participate in the Work Capability Assessment where necessary.

Yes, you are still required to complete an ESA50 assessment form and may also be required to attend a WCA medical, even though you are only receiving NI Credits.Hi! That said, have you checked with HMRC whether you have already collected enough NI credits in order to be able to receive a full State pension?

Even though you will still have to go through the ESA WCA, ESA50, etc, etc, as informed in the previous two posts, you should not have to get involved with WFI's or WRA, as you will only be in entitled to ESA for the purpose of NI Credits.
You will not be receiving ESA payments, or indeed the Work Related Activity Component of ESA.

Good luck to everyone who is going through this, as although I'd tried to prepare when I got the first letter and read the guides over and over, and then after 4 months thought they were going to leave me in peace, when the form actually arrives and ( for me anyway ) the amount of time it takes to complete, and the worry, I truly understand what everyone is going through.
