After 4 months of waiting, i'm back to square 1 ! was created by emma72
Good Afternoon All,
I have been awaiting a reconsideration decision since Dec 2011.
This morning i received a letter from DWP, saying that my reconsideration letter, was incorrectly recorded as an Appeal.
And i should have been sent an ESA50 and attended a WCA straight away.
So i have been waiting 4 months to be told that they have messed up ! !
My Anxiety has escalated, and ive been feelling very Depressed, whilest awaiting the outcome
After i have calmed down, i went through the ESA50 questionaire, and discovered that the Exceptional Circumstances Support Group questions are not listed ?
I think that 1 of the descriptors applies to me.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Emma
Looking back through your posts, you notified the DWP that your condition had deteriorated since your previous assessment and you now felt you met the criteria for the Support Group.
With regard the ESA50, the Exceptional Circumstances descriptors are not included on the form, there are actually other Support Group criteria that are missing as well
You will need to include details of why you meet these criteria, and up-to-date evidence that supports your contention. You cannot use "old" evidence for the exceptional circunstances as, more than any other descriptor your condition as it is now, is being assessed.
Have a look at the the ESA guides for more information.

Good luck

Thankyou for your advice, but i forgot to ask, Will i still receive any ESA benefit, whilest this is going on ?
I'm just wondering if this is now classed as a new claim ?
Thankyou

If you are placed in the Support Group, then your ESA(CB) will be re-instated and your will receive back payments.
If you are placed in the WRAG, your payments will not be re-instated, but you will be eligible for NI Credits from the date your ESA(CB) ceased.
