FROM SG TO WRAG 90 DAYS AGO - NOW LOSING BENEFITS!

I hope this is wrong!? I have received a letter today advising me that my WRAG benefit will stop on 30 Apr as I "have received 365 days on contribution based ESA". I was in the Support Group(CB) for 12 months (never having been in WRAG previously under any claim) but was moved from SG to WRAG(CB) on 14 Jan this year. My calculations make that only 90 days on WRAG, and having searched B&W website thoroughly I have read that days in the SG do not count towards your days on contribution based ESA. I am going to ring the JC to find out what planet they are on, but would like to know that I am right. Could anyone please confirm that I should not lose my benefit under these circumstances?

I should have appealed the decision to put me in WRAG from SG but as I receive my state pension in March 2013 I didn't want the hastle, and I thought that the DWP changes wouldn't affect me because I had not been in WRAG for 365 days - I wish I had appealed now. I would be most grateful for some feeback.

After a long wait over this weekend, I have finally got my call back from DWP and they confirm that I won't lose benefit, just waiting for confirmation in writing. I think we should all demand compensation for the stress and worry they cause when they send letters out wrongly! How do you think that would go down?!

just found out my money is stoppping end of april despite receiving letter saying my money will be increasing and i qualofy for christmas bonus. how ami suppose to find £400 a month when it has been agreed that i can't work due my illness. is it worth me appealing for the support group, i have fibromyalgia, received high rate dla mobility and low care.its all wrong. we are already in a debt management plan, why are they discrimating against the diasbled and ill people in this country

As it is more than 1 month since you receieved the decision to place you in the WRAG, it is too late to appeal (unless you can show 'good cause' for not doing so before).

If you feel that your condition has worstened, you can ask for a 'supersession' (reassessment) in the hope of being put into the Support Group. The onus will be on you to prove that you meet the Support Group criteria.

Meanwhile, make sure that you are claiming everything else to which you are entitled (DLA, housing benefit etc according to circumstances).
