Does getting IB DLA affect State Pension when due

I paid a full stamp when I left school and started work in 1971 until I had a breakdown in health in 1984. Since then I have continuously received a small works pension, and Incap. Benefit. From 1995 I have also received DLA (care and mobility).
I am now 8 years from State Pension age - will I receive the full/basic state pension as so many years have been on benefit and not employed? I have been told the necessary 'stamp' is paid by the DHSS/DWP while drawing benefit and therefore the state pension, when paid, will not be reduced because of this. Is this correct please?
Thanks
David

Hi David, and welcome to the forum.

Firstly, it appears that your user name if your real name in full. Many people prefer to use a nickname to preserve some anonymity. The following link might be helpful

To answer your question - you are credited with NI pension contributions whilst receiving IB and ESA.
