Appealing - when do I send in sick note?

In brief, I am appealing against a decision not to give me ESA (was being changed from IB to this), and I am in a bit of a state of panic about my money being stopped (early May). I understand that if appealing, I should be able to get ESA at the lower rate, but that a sick note may be required. I have an appointment with the GP tomorrow, but when should i get the note to start for? Is the date of my final payment (that they have told me) when the claim runs out (paid fortnightly), or does the claim run out from 2 weeks after that payment date or what? Just slightly confused and not wanting a gap with no money!

Yes, you will get the ESa assessment rate whilst appealing, as long as you continue to send in 'Fitnotes' from your doctor during this time. The first certificate should start the day after your claim ends (which, as I understand it, is the date of your last payment).
