ESA Rate Increase - April 2012? was created by shamrockqueen
Hi there

I am on contributory based esa since november 2011. I thought the esa rates went up in april 2012?

When in april does this occur? Only i haven't had any increase in my money?

Thanks in advance

Most benefits would have increased from on or around Monday 9th April 2012.

The new benefits rates are here:

www.direct.gov.uk/en/Nl1/Newsroom/DG_200634

Please remember most benefits are paid in arrears so it maybe that the new increased payments may not have been physically paid yet if paid monthly, 4 weekly etc.

I thought ESA was only paid weekly/fortnightly and no longer monthly.
Check your last one and see if it is a partial increase, especially as it only kicked in from 9th April.
If no joy, phone and check that yours has been increased in case computer error.

Hi,

If you have received a payment without at least a pro-rata increase or even full increase included for the period since 9th April then it maybe an idea to give the DWP a ring to establish what is happening.
