INDEFINITE DLA AWARD was created by abbeydabbs
I suffer from ms and last year i was awarded indefinite dla on the higher rate for each benefit.i wondered if when they introduce pip will i also be required to have the yearly assesments too.
And if so when will it happen.i have a mobility car which i rely on.without it my husband and i would be housebound.i am so worried i will lose it.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I know this can be very worrying, but the bulk transfer of DLA claimants is probably two years away, so there is plenty of time to prepare.
The government has not yet announced details of how they will transfer DLA claimants from DLA to PIP. We know that it will include an assessment, but this does not necessarily mean that a medical will be required.
A recent document has clarified the periods that awards can be made for, and periods of 10 years and an indefinite award have been added, although neither of these will mean that you would not be re-assessed.
The consultation documents have suggested that the higher rate of mobility will be more difficult to achieve, but until the final descriptors are published with associated advice, there really is no way to know how this will affect existing HRM awardees.

So I'd like to remind members to use the FAQ, as most likely the answer to your query is already there.
