10 weeks and still waiting for backpay

It has now been 10 weeks since my sucessful ESA Tribunal. I have still not had a squeak about my backpay. I am due to ring tommorrow to see if I can get any further chasing it up. Is there any way I can speed this up or at least get any information about this, as so far I have been totally unsucessful each time I have rung (been doing this every 2 weeks!). 10 weeks just seems too long.

Like everything the DWP are involved in, back payments are being delayed due to the excessive load the department is facing.

Have you confirmed that the DWP have the Decision letter from the Tribunal Service? If they haven't you can send them a copy of yours.

If they have then the only thing I can suggest is to contact your MP to see if they can apply any pressure, see

Contacting your MP

Thanks Gordon. Yes I did supply a copy of trib decision a few weeks back, as I could not ascertain if they had received it. I shall ring again tomorrow, and if no joy will contact my MP.

I shall also inform him of the lurch I have been left in due to time limiting of ESA, as they have not processed my transfer of that yet either, so I am left with no income at all. I am suprised no-one else has mentioned this on this site, or anywhere else (I tied googling!). Am I on my own or is anyone else still waiting for transfer with nothing to live on? :S

I've just waited over 3 months for the DWP to acknowledge I'm due backpay from a successful ESA Appeal and qualify for full ESA Support Group benefit..

Only by ringing your local DWP office at 7:59am in the morning will you have any chance of speaking to an operator who will take your initial enquiry then they will phone back within 3 hours.

I had to ring at that time today to request a SOR and revised medical report and other associated documents. It took 3 DWP operators to ring me back with the last one telling me you've had all that you requested. But I have not received them. After explaining a chronology of events they now have to send away for the said paperwork.

I've begun recording my telephone calls to them so I can refer to them in case I ned to write to my MP.

Good luck

Thanks Nevergiveup, I'm going to give it a few days I think. I am being taught patience through all this- not easy! I'm glad you have at least got acknowledgement that you are owed backpay, and are in a group. I shall try the early morning trick, as you advised! I have had 2 call backs before, with little success, thats why I sort of hoped there may be some magic key/ something I could say to get some actual real information about my case apart from "It's being processed"! Ho Hum.....! :silly:
