Hi all,
My stepson received a letter with a form to fill in regarding a severe disability premium on top of his ESA. One of the questions apart from "do you have a partner" is "Does anyone live with you"
The examples given are son,foster-Daughter aunt, border or tenant or landlord.
Well no one lives with my stepson,he does not have a home. He lives with us in our family home along with his brother, his step sister and step brother. We do not live in his home, So should the answer be no one, Because he lives with us?
Thanks

The rules surrounding SDP can be quite complicated and are often only resolved by a Decision Maker making a decision, but in (very) general terms, it is only awarded to someone living on their own who has no one receiving Carers Allowance for them.

As your stepson is living with you and your family, he is clearly not living on his own, but it may be that his circumstances will still allow receipt of the premiun, however, you will need to get face to face advice with regard to showing eligibility.
