ESA Review Period was created by Liz944
Just wanted to ask a question, I was put in the ESA supoort group after my medical in January. Asked for the report from my medical and associated paperwork. From the paperwork it looks like I will be reviewed in 12 months, but this is based on my respiratory condition only as medical stopped after 5 mins. I also have another medical condition which is permanent and not likely to change which was related to exceptional circumstances. This does not seen to have taken into account, I assume because I scored the required points for the support group. Is this the correct way of determining how long before the next assessment.
I suspect if the second condition had been considered the assessment period would have been longer.
Just curious really and wondering if there is anything I should adding when I have to complete the next set of forms.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Access to the Support Group is not points based. However, you are right in that the Decision Maker would have stopped the process once s/he had identied that you meet at least one of the support group criteria. As you suspect, it is likely that this award will run for 12 months, don't forget that the reassessment process will start several months prior to this.
The only thing I can suggest is that you put your 'other' condition first when you next fill out an ESA50 (if you did not do so this time) in the hope that it will be considered first. However, I think that the 'special circumstances' are the very last thing to be considered if the claimant does not meet any other support group criteria.
