Very worried about timings for IB to ESA transfer

My dreaded ESA50 form arrived today. It has to be back by 21st June. I have tried to understand what I can from the forum about what the timescale is but as you might imagine I am very stressed and so I might have got things muddled.

I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if I have understood things right and fill in any gaps in my knowledge.

As I understand it the following happens:

1) I send the ESA50 by recorded delivery on 20th June

2) ATOS decide whether or not I need to go to their interrogation

3) Assuming ATOS decide I need to go to their interrogation, they write to me (I won't answer the phone) and give me only 7 days notice of the interrogation, despite stating 'Tell us about any times in the next 3 months when you cannot go to a face-to-face assessment'

4) The interrogation happens (I will be accompanied by my carer)

5) ATOS send the results of the interrogation to the DWP who then make a decision of either outright fail, WRAG or Support.

6) The DWP write to me to inform me of their decision

8) Assuming ATOS have inferred a failure from the interrogation I appeal

9) I wait to hear when the appeal will be

****************

I am particularly interested in how long steps 2 and 3 are likely to take, and whether I have got step 3 right - i.e. is it true that ATOS will only give me 7 days notice of their interrogation date.

Many thanks to anybody who replies to this and more importantly, I hope it will help
some of the other poor souls in the same situation.

That is about right - although I wouldn't recommend leaving it until 20th June before you send your ESA50 off if you can avoid it.

There is no saying how long it will be until you hear from ATOS to arrange your 'medical' (if you have one). It can be anything from several weeks to a few months.

Yes, it is usually about 7 days notice for the medical. However, it takes at least 3 weeks to arrange for recording of the medical, so in these circumstances you would get more notice.

Good luck!
