This post isnt about specific circumstances. Although they are mentioned, it's not a request for advice, as I already got that from DWP.

I hate making phonecalls because they trigger distress.

I rang the first time, as my payment was late, and again because I had not heard back from the DWP after sending them my annual IB6 form and occupational pension amount update.

I got passed around a lot of departments having to ring several numbers before I got the right department.

As my IB entitlement reassessment is due any time now, (I know this does not necessarily mean I'll receive the form now)but will the staff DWP staff I spoke to this last two weeks make notes on my file saying that that I can make phonecalls, even though I told them I was nervous on the phone.
I had no choice but to ring them as I have no one else to do it for me.

Thank you

Thanks

The fact the you have contacted the DWP will be notified on your file, however, whether this means it will also be noted that you can make phone calls to the DWP is anybodies guess.

I would also make the point that initiating a call is very different from receiving an unsolicited one,so I wouldn't worry.

Hi Gordon

I initiated the calls.

Also, when they rang back this afternoon, my answerphone did not kick in, and I had to take the call, and I soundced calmer than I did this morning when I initiated the calls.

I have initiated them on a number of occasions.
I had no choice, no one else could do it for me.
I'mn really scared now :(

Hi Gordon

i did make a post to reply to you but it hasnt shown.

I did initiate several calls to the DWP as i was passed around and given differne numbers to ring. Is this a problem I should be concerned about.

I finhd it hard to go out, and I have a drug problem in that I take non prescrived drugs to go out.
I initiated one of the calls at the jobcentre, but I only got there because I took drugs.

Should I tell them on my ESA50 form that although I initiated phonecalls it was traumatic.

Should I avoid calls in the futuire?

Also, they just returned my call, and because my mobile answerphone did not kick in, I had to take the call, and I was calmer than this morning but also nervous.

also I told them I was nervous tnhis morning and I am worried that they are going to think I am putting it on. I feel that they think we are all benefit fraudsters or scroungers cos of what I have read in the paper.

I cannot help all the worries crowding into my mind.

I have no one else to make calls to the dwp for me on my behalf so I have no choice.

Many thanks

I can't think of anything the DWP need to contact you about, that can't be resolved through written correspondance.

That is not to say, that on occasion taking a phone call from the DWP would not be quicker and to your advantage, but that is at your discretion.

Thanks for your help so far.
I still have questions, please see last post too.
You told me not to worry, but I initiated the calls and I also visited the jobcentre (under the influence of painkillers). Does this mean that the staff are more likely to make a note that I can go out and make phone calls?
Also, are they more likely to flag my file up for reassessment sooner?
Thank you.
