Is it necessary to inform DLA if you start part-time work but reasons for getting award remain unchanged? Thanks for any advice

Yes, you should inform DLA of any change of circumstances, even though DLA is an 'in work benefit'.

Just to clarify Mrs Hurtyback's post :

DLA is paid to claimants with care and/or mobility needs.

Many of my colleagues in receipt of DLA work both full-time or part-time, including myself although I'm over 70 years of age

For most people, work is unlikely to affect entitlement to DLA, provided the work you do is consistent with your disability.

Claimants have a duty to inform the DWP of any relevant change of circumstances. A
change will only be “relevant” if it might affect your entitlement to DLA. In many cases
there will be no legal requirement to inform them that you are working, but it is probably safer to inform anyway, making clear that you still need your DLA.
