My DLA is up for renewal. I am finding it really hard to articulate my problems and make them fit the descriptors. Has any one else managed to get a renewal for this condition and if so could you give me any advice on how to put my problems in DLA speak? I have started on the walking questions. Basically I am mostly housebound. When I am well enough to go out I can manage 20 metres slowly once or twice a day in one go and needing significant rest. I walk normally but severe energy loss prevents me from doing so more frequently. Any energy used up on walking takes away from energy needed for other activities that day. my cumulative walking distance is room to room in the house. If I go out and need to walk further than 20 metres I would have to use a wheel chair. I am at risk of stumbling and falls but I take measures to prevent them by not exceeding my energy levels and pushing myself to a point of collapse. sometimes I need the support of another person or i would use a walking stick for the short distances I can walk without a wheelchair. Any advice or pointers as to where or how to explain all this would be appreciated. i have yet to attempt the care needs.
