HELP! time is running out for ESA appeal! was created by tabby026
Have been put in the work related group for ESA even though I have been put on ill health retirement. I have cerebral palsy (however worked with that condition since I was 18). The muscle spasms (from the cp) in my jaw, neck and head are so severe I am in bed for days on end with severe pain, sickness and dizziness. How do I make my condition fit one of the Support Group Descriptors?
Please help I am desperate.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Clearly we cannot give you explicit advice, I would suggest that you go through the ESA guide step by step and see which Support Group descriptors apply to you.

Don't forget that our current award ould be at risk if you appeal
Is there any risk to challenging a decision

Hi Tabby
I'm afraid it's not possible to make a condition fit a descriptor. You need to see if your disability falls within any of the SG descriptors.
Although time is running out, you have the option of lodging an appeal without giving detailed reasons and then trying to find face-to-face advice, to see if you have grounds to appeal to get into the SG. You can always withdraw your appeal at any time.
Good luck
Derek
