will my husband be called for a medical was created by sonnyboyo
my husband receives SDA & DLA for the last 25yrs. i work 30hrs per week and we do not claim any income support. however we never get any letters from the DWP from one year to the next and i am wondering will my husband be called in for a medical assessment which he has not had in many many years. i know of some people living near-by who get called in every 6 months for these medicals but not my husband who is registered blind. is the reason he has not been called in because we do not claim income support? if not what is the reason.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The people being called in for assessments, and moved onto ESA, are those who claim IB (or IS on medical grounds). Your husband will be assessed (this may, or may not, involve a face-to-face assessment) for the move from DLA to PIP at some stage (as long as he is below the age of 65).
Edited to add - some people do have reassessments for their DLA but I assume your husband has been left alone as his condition is not going to improve.

Sorry to have to correct you Mrs H, but the transfer to ESA also includes SDA claimants, seeThe people being called in for assessments, and moved onto ESA, are those who claim IB (or IS on medical grounds).
