If I were to lose DLA, currently high rate mobility, low rate care, would I also lose my entitlement to a blue badge?? Currently my local council issues me with one upon sending them evidence of DLA high rate mobility. Losing the DLA would be bad enough but if I were to lose my blue badge getting around would be impossible!!! I've not heard anything about this issue so hope it's being addressed???

Grateful for any information.

You are required to notify your local authority of any Change in Circumstances that effects your eligibility for the Blue Badge, losing your HRM, would be such a change.

Whether the badge is withdrawn would be up to you Local Authority, they can issue a badge, without someone being in receipt of HRM, if the claimant meets their requirements, an assessment may be required.

Hi Ss,

It is possible to gain a Blue Badge, without automatically qualifying due to receipt of High Rate Mobility.

This would involve a medical questionnaire, and input from your G.P. or other treating HCP, they have a "walking test" criteria.
