My form may not arrive on time

I am sorry if this topic has been dealt with before. I sent off my E85 last Monday (15/10/12). I sent it 1st class recorded delivery. I have been tacking it online and I keep getting a message saying Item such and such is with us and is progressing through our system for delivery. The problem is the deadline is tommorrow 23/10/12! I am beside myself that it will not arrive on time. Is there anything I can do if it doesn't get there by tomorrow? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I had a similar situation when I sent forms via recorded delivery. I phoned the Royal Mail number and they were able to confirm that the letter had been delivered.

BTW, I assume that you actually mean form ESA50?

We do see this scenario sometimes with other members, generally when the ATOS address is a P.O. Box number.

If it is still not showing up as delivered by tommorrow, you could try contacting ATOS, Tel : 0113 230 9175. or :customer-relations@atoshealthcare.com

If any problems ensue if it does not arrive on time, you should be able to prove that you have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that it arrived by the deadline, in that you posted it by recorded delivery over a week before it was due back.

I gather that you have a recorded delivery slip, which you should keep safely, in case it is needed.

Thanks for the answer Mrs Hurtyback. Yes it Was an ESA50. When you say you called do you mean you called Atos or Royal Mail? Thanks also Bro68. I will do this if I have no luck tomorrow. Yes I do have proof of postage.

I called Royal Mail - the number is on their website. This actually happened on two occasions, the first time I was assured that their system shoped that my letter had been delivered, the second time they e-mailed me something as proof. It does make me wonder why I bothered to pay extra for this 'service', I have just got proof of postage ever since!

Just read your first reply again and you did say Royal Mail - sorry for that- it's just this whole process is so nerve racking and it seems that it never stops, as by the time you get a result it's time to start over again. Thanks to you all for your work and making me feel that I'm not alone in this.
