confusing letter from DWP re ESA was created by rcs28
I'm just looking for some reassurance that what I think a DWP letter is saying is saying.
I was put into the work-related activity group and appealed to be put into the support group. This was in Augustr and I had no reply until today when I received a letter that says 'We have looked at your claim again following a recent change'. It then talks about the money I will receive and says 'The money will be paid every two weeks for as long as you are still entitled to ESA.' Then on the last page where it details how the money I will receive is made up there is one line that says 'Extra money because you are in the Support Group'. Can I take from all this that my appeal was successful? Is it normal wording for the DWP not to say anywhere that my appeal was successful? I'm just confused because I have had no other corrrespondance from them, no evidence as to the original decision, no medical, no nothing.
If I have indeed been put into the Support Group it's all thanks to you and your wonderful guides that I followed to the letter.

Good old DWP they are not known for the clarity of their communication with claimants! It certainly sounds as if you have been placed in the Support Group on reconsideration - congratulations!

Best way to be certain is to give DWP a call. You're not the only one to have received a "We have looked at your claim again following a recent change" before a decision letter is received (if at all).
