Has anyone who did permitted work under Incapacity Benefit rules been transferred to ESA Support Group whilst still doing permitted work? If so, what was the nature of their permitted work? The details of anyone's experience would be much appreciated? Many thanks.

Hi d1,
This has been discussed many times in the past, see this list of threads that came up when I put "Permitted Work" into the search engine at the top of the page :

See also the FAQ : Permitted Work
As you will see it is not a straightforward issue, and there can be pitfalls.
Of course, other members are most welcome to relate their personal experiences.

Thanks bro58. I have checked your links and notice that the Gov.uk website does not refer to "work which is part of a treatment programme under medical supervision whilst you are an inpatient or regularly attending as an outpatient of a hospital or similar institution" as permitted work. This was accepted as permitted work under incapacity benefit. The answer is important to a relative of mine who at some point will be migrated from incapacity benefit. It seems that there is a change.
No problem d1,

As you can see, it can be a "Minefield", this is why we can't give definitive answers Re : Permitted Work.
I'm glad that you found the links helpful.

There is very little guidance, even for ESA, on what type of work is acceptable for Permitted Work, ultimately the decision as to whether any particular activity, including those that you have referenced, is acceptable or not lies with a DWP Decision Maker. Thanks bro58.
